Privacy Policy

What Evi and evi.rest know about you, why, and for how long. We keep as little as we can.

The short version

01

Using Evi without an account

Every Evi makes a random install id the first time it runs. It isn't tied to your Discord account unless you link it. With it, Evi sends:

  • Plugin usage

    Id gone after 2 days

Once a day: which store plugins you have and which are on. After two days the day becomes plain counts per plugin, without your id.

  • Plugin health

    Network hashed

When a store plugin fails to start or can't find parts of Discord: the plugin, its version, Discord's build and what went wrong, so broken plugins get flagged in the store.

  • Crash reports

    30 days

Only when you press “Send to author”: the report, your Evi version and Discord build. The plugin's author can read it.

  • Stars

    Until you remove them

The plugins and themes you star.

Your IP address reaches our server with every request, as with any website. We use it briefly to limit abuse and don't store it.

Evi never reads or sends your messages, your Discord token, your friends list or your servers. Plugins run on your computer; a plugin made by a community author could do more, which is why every store plugin is reviewed before it's published. Evi's code is on GitHub, so you can check all of this.

02

Logging in with Discord

Logging in to evi.rest uses Discord's login with the identify permission. We get your Discord user id, username, display name and avatar, and keep no Discord token. If you tick “Join the Evi Discord”, Discord also lets us add you to our server; we do that once and throw the permission away.

  • Your profile

    While you have an account

Your Discord id, name and avatar, when you joined and when you last logged in.

  • Sessions

    30 days after last use

A hash of the session token (never the token itself), your browser's user agent and when it was last used.

  • Linked installs

    While you have an account

The Evi installs you linked to your account.

  • Badges and collectibles

    While you have an account

Your badges and how you arranged them, when you started supporting Evi, your Sparks and every change to them, what you own and wear, and codes you redeemed.

  • What you post

    Until you delete it

Reviews, reports, follows, collections and notifications. For authors: your profile and everything you submit.

03

What other people can see

Your badges and the collectibles you wear are shown to other Evi users next to your name in Discord. Reviews, author profiles, published plugins and themes are public on evi.rest. Crash reports are seen only by the plugin's author and Evi's developers.

04

Why we keep it

To run the store and your account, to show authors how their plugins are doing, to flag broken plugins, and to stop spam and abuse. That's it. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to profile you. Evi's developers can see account data in the admin tools, and use it only for these reasons.

05

Where it's kept

evi.rest runs on our own server in the European Union. The only outside service involved is Discord, for logging in. The only cookie is the one that keeps you logged in.

06

Bans

If an account breaks the Terms, Evi's developers can ban it from evi.rest. We keep a record of bans and who made them.

07

Your choices

  • You can use Evi and the store without ever making an account.
  • You can log out of this device or every other one from your dashboard.
  • You can ask for a copy of your data, or to delete your account and everything tied to it, in our Discord server. Deleting removes your profile, sessions, linked installs, badges, collectibles and Sparks. Anonymous counts that no longer contain your id stay.

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR), you may have more rights, such as correcting your data or objecting to how it's used. Ask in the same place and we'll help.

08

Children

Evi is for people old enough to use Discord: at least 13, or older where your country says so. We don't knowingly keep data about anyone younger; if you think we do, tell us and we'll delete it.

09

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top, and for big changes post about it in our Discord server first.
